Etika Penggunaan Kecerdasan Artifisial (AI) dalam Pendidikan Agama Buddha: Analisis Literatur atas Peluang, Risiko dan Relevansinya dengan Nilai-Nilai Buddhis
Abstract
The This study aims to analyze the opportunities, risks, and relevance of Buddhist values in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Buddhist Religious Education. The study is grounded in the growing use of AI in education, which offers efficiency, accessibility, and personalized learning, while simultaneously raising ethical concerns such as informational bias, hallucinations, the degradation of pedagogical interaction, and the potential distortion of religious teachings. This research employs a systematic literature review design using narrative thematic synthesis. The data were collected through a review of academic literature, including reputable international and national scholarly articles, as well as primary Buddhist sources such as the Suttas and the Pali Canon, and were then analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that AI has the potential to support learning effectiveness, instructional material development, and access to Buddhist sources, but it also carries epistemic, moral, and relational risks when used without ethical control. Buddhist values, particularly sīla, ehipassiko, sammā vācā, and kalyāṇamitta, are shown to be relevant as a mitigating framework that positions AI as a supportive tool rather than a moral or spiritual authority. The study contributes theoretically by bringing together AI ethics, religious pedagogy, and Buddhist ethics, while practically offering a conceptual foundation for the critical, honest, and responsible use of AI in Buddhist Religious Education
