Abstract

Wediombo Beach is situated in Java's southern coastline region, which is vulnerable to earthquakes and tsunamis due to a subduction zone at the Indian Ocean's bottom. Therefore, in order to achieve a balance between economic utilization and the protection of natural resources, as well as a shared commitment to safety from potential disasters, proper zoning management is required for the management and development of Wediombo Beach tourism based on disaster mitigation. The research methodology used for this study was descriptive qualitative. A variety of techniques, including focus group discussions (FGDs), in-depth interviews, and mini-surveys (observation), were used to gather primary data. According to the study's findings, Wediombo Beach's geological distinctiveness and variety of attractions make it a strong point for tourism development. The beach's location in a disaster-prone area, however, calls for mitigating measures, such as zoning to guarantee that tourism may proceed without jeopardizing crucial elements of visitor safety.
